The design concept primarily involves translating traditional elements of mosque architecture into modern contemporary form. The intent was to highlight the evolving design practices in religious architecture while at the same time create a linking them to traditional and local values. Jamia Masjid Syeda Amina is purely a quest for balancing open and closed areas, simplicity and expression, along with regional identity and conflict. The mosque seeks to carry on a traditional legacy with its built identity and at the same time contradicts traditionalism.
